Sure, life can throw us all a few curve balls from time to time. We get so entangled in our day to day activities that sometimes we forget to take care of ourselves. The hardest part of practicing self-care is actually making time for it and making yourself a priority. What I like to do is set aside one day a week that is just for numero uno. That’s why the most important step in establishing a self-care routine is being relaxed and grounded and CBDfx is the most trusted CBD brand that can help you achieve this first step.
Many people, myself included, love how their CBD products can add an underlying level of ease because it’s really hard to enjoy your self-care time if you can’t even relax, right? Everyone has their own idea of “self-care” so don’t overthink it. You can implement a whole self-care day, or even do a little self-care every day…it’s all about what works for you and fits into your life. I mean, the whole idea is to relax and take care of yourself so have some fun with it.
So, with that being said, here are some self-care ideas that you can incorporate to form your very own routine:

Yes, I am starting with the obvious, but it is so important and most of us want to ignore it. It is insanely hard for most of us to get going and find the motivation but it doesn’t have to be. You can walk around the block, go to a yoga class, ride a bike, or even just do some stretches on your living room floor. Once you get the blood flowing you will feel better about it and feel good about yourself!
Sometimes we don’t know how much tension we’re carrying around. I always find myself having to let my shoulders down because they are scrunched up. If you can find a decent massage in your area and get one once every month or two you will definitely find this to be a staple in your self-care routine.
I know a lot of us don’t think to make this a staple in our self-care routines because facials can get kind of pricey, but there are at-home alternatives. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love to go to the spa and get a facial, but sometimes my pockets don’t agree. When it comes down to this, I look to Pinterest for some good DIY homemade facial masks. My favorite being Aztec clay and apple cider vinegar.
Television, phones, computers, and the list goes on. We have so many sources of digital content in our faces from the time we wake up until the time we lay our heads down (because if you’re like me you’re scrolling before you knock out). Turn off the electronics and go back to the basics. You can read, draw, meditate, take a relaxing bath, or do anything else that gives you a break from the outside world. This is especially true in the present moment because too much media can induce anxious feelings with COVID-19.
If you did not know, positive thinking changes lives! This is something that you should try to do every day. Simply put, this is positive self-talk, but you can take it a step further by writing down your goals. Once you write down those goals, figure out the steps needed to achieve them. That way you know how to be productive in your day to day life while working towards any goal you might have. Making affirmations, setting goals, and achieving them is great for your self-confidence!
I don’t know about you, but I cannot relax in clutter. During my self-care day, I clean and organize my home. For some reason, I can relax better in a clean home. I’m not saying go full spring cleaning (unless you want to), but tackle that area that has been bugging you for a while. I know cleaning and/or decluttering is not everyone’s idea of relaxation and self-care, but don’t knock it until you try it!
Take Up A Hobby

Maybe you’ve always wanted to grow your own veggies? Maybe you’ve always wanted to pick up painting? Whatever it is, give it a shot. Sometimes, picking up a hobby allows you to have the release and relaxation you didn’t even know you needed. We all have the time right now with most of us being instructed to stay indoors, so it is a perfect time!
Self-care is something that is specific and important to each of us as individuals. Sure, these are some tips, but only you know how to form your own routine. I just hope these tips can help get the ball rolling for you. Just remember, it’s perfectly fine (and really important) to take time for yourself. You need that time for self-reflection and relaxation…whatever that may be is up to you!
